For angels and small funds · a free tool from Deliberate

The good deal is in there. So are 300 other emails.

A sorting system for pitches, updates, and asks, with the decline notes already written. Take it. It is the whole thing, on this page.

The sorting rules

Every inbound email lands in one of four decisions.

Do it now, plan it for a slot, hand it to someone, or let it go with a note. The same four the app uses. Read the table once and it runs in your head for free.

What arrives Decision The rule What you send
Warm intro from someone you have backed or worked with Do Reply the same day, even if the answer is a short no. The intro is the relationship, not the deal. A real reply, in your words. Never a form.
Cold pitch inside your thesis, stage, and geography Plan Into the deck-review slot on your calendar. One slot, twice a week. Nothing gets read outside it. Note 1, below: the honest "I will look on Thursday."
Cold pitch outside your thesis Let go Decline within a day. A fast no is a kindness; silence is the founder's most expensive outcome. Note 2, below: the clean decline.
Portfolio update Plan Read on Fridays, in one sitting. Reply only where they asked for something specific. One line back when there is an ask. Nothing when there is not.
An ask from an LP or a co-investor Do Same day. These are the people whose money and trust make the rest possible. The answer, or the date you will have it.
A founder asking for an intro you cannot make Let go Say so once, plainly. Do not leave it open. Note 3, below: the no-intro note.
Vendor pitches, event invites, newsletters Let go No reply. Unsubscribe where there is a link. Filter where there is not. Nothing.
Note 1 · The honest wait

Thanks for sending this. I read decks in one sitting, twice a week, so you will hear from me by Thursday either way. If that is too slow for your round, tell me and I will step aside.

Note 2 · The clean decline

Thanks for thinking of me. This is outside what I invest in, so I am going to pass rather than waste your time. That is about my focus, not your company. Good luck with the round.

Note 3 · The no-intro note

I do not know them well enough to make that intro land, and a weak intro is worse than none. If that changes I will reach out. Sorry I cannot help with this one.

Copy the notes. Change the words to yours. There is no download and no gate. The whole thing is on this page.

Deliberate runs on your Mac. On a phone? Send yourself this link and open it at your desk.

The app runs these rules for you.

The EA sorts every thread into the same four decisions and drafts the note. To read and draft, Deliberate sends the emails it is working on to Claude, under your own Claude account. It never sends your mail to us. Deliberate trains nothing. What Anthropic may use is set by your own Claude settings. The bigger yes is joining the alpha. This is the smaller one.

Can we write to you now and then?

We write an occasional letter: what we shipped, what we got wrong, what we ruled out. No sequence, no schedule, unsubscribe is one click and we don't ask why.

Only ever used to send you the letter. Privacy

The product IN ALPHA NOW

The EA

The executive assistant you hire in five minutes.

Connect your Google and Microsoft accounts. Five minutes later your email is read, your day is mapped, your replies are drafted. Every thread lands in one of four decisions: Do, Plan, Handoff, or Let go, each with a receipt. You approve. You send.

Cold outreach, pre-screened

Pitches you have never seen a name from are sorted before you read them, with the reason on the row.

Declines, drafted

The no is written in your voice and waits for your approval. It never sends on its own judgment.

Follow-ups that follow up

Watches resurface a sent thread when silence has gone on too long. The pipeline is the follow-up.

Your deal flow stays yours

On your Mac, the app keeps who wrote, when, the subject and the first lines of each email, plus short summaries and drafts it wrote. The full text of your mail is never saved. It never hoards your data.

The five promises

The contract every Deliberate product keeps.

It never sends on its own judgment.

Your approval is the send, and nobody on the other end is dealing with a machine. Automation is earned, never assumed.

It never hides a failure.

Every refusal speaks. A failed send lands in your Drafts, never lost.

It never wastes your effort.

Four decisions, receipts attached. Empty is success.

It never hoards your data.

A short record on your Mac, never the full text. Your mailbox stays the record.

The work actually moves.

Approved, sent, and off your plate. You end the day seeing what moved.
